Description

A hydrophone (PAM HYDRO) is a very sensitive sensor for correlation and made especially for the usage with the transmitters of a Correlux P1 and P100.

Hydrophones pick up the leak noise dispersing in water, unlike the common piezo-sensors (PAM CORR) picking up the noise directly from the pipe.

Therefore it is necessary to connect the hydrophones directly to the water in the pipe. Hydrants are the common connection points but any other connection like taps in houses is probable.

The SebaKMT hydrophones feature a high sensitivity especially in the lower frequency band (<300Hz). Because of that they are very appropriate for correlation on plastic pipes, pipes with a long distance or larger diameter.

The handling is very easy and allows a quick set up. A ball valve on the top of the hydrophone is used to carry out comfortably the ventilation of the sensors. It is also for connecting manometers to check the pressure.
